Projects:
Findability Today BlogThis project started out as an assignment for a special topics class about a year ago. The class was on the subject of Findability. Until then, Findability was something I knew nothing about. I was already a big fan of the Usability and the Accessibility of websites and was very much leaning toward starting to narrow in on them in my studies and freelance.
Then this class came around. I found it really cool that you really had to pay attention to the usability and accessibility of a site to get the most out of any findability work you did to the site.
As I said, the blog was a project for class, but a funny thing happened after the class ended. I kept on blogging, but I narrowed the topic to not just findability but specifically to findability and the Wordpress blog publishing system.
The Wordpress publishing system has been downloaded over 900,000 times making it a larger player in the web-publishing world. With this number of users, I saw a need for them to have a place to go and read about how to make their blogs be more Findable. I have branched out to also talk about usability and accessibility but still in context to the Wordpress world.
Everything I blog about are things that I have tried out on my blog. That way the reader gets a real world example of whether or not what I am talking about really works.
I moved this blog to its own domain about 6 months ago. I redesigned the template when I moved, and I have been tweaking it a little bit at a time.
I hope you enjoy the project.
